Gad Almaliah
Gadi, who was born and raised in Jerusalem, is inspired by the vision of combining the ancient Ketubah document with a very striking contemporary look. His calligraphy is in the style of the Dead Sea Scrolls which is surrounded by either rich-looking, hand-cut embossed metals or vivid watercolor images. Debra Band
Debra's work in Judaic art and Ketubot draws upon her love of Jewish tradition and learning. Yosef Bar Shalom
Yosef was born in Israel to a traditional Yemenite family. He studied at the Tel Chai Seminary and the Bezalel Academy of Art. Vita Barth
Vita is a multifaceted artist who has worked in a wide range of media. Her early mosaics were a precursor to the magnificent quilted fabric pieces that she creates today. Elliot Bassman
Elliot is a prolific artist who has always been fascinated and inspired by biblical themes and Jewish symbolism. These he has re-viewed and transformed into his own personal vision. His art is meditation, prayer and joy made manifest. Ayala Ben-David
Ayala Ben-David, a painter and ketubah-maker, has been creating art for more than 25 years. She spent 12 years in Israel (10 on a small kibbutz in the Negev desert), and her works draw upon the unique beauty of Israel's landscape as inspiration. Mickie Caspi
A most prolific artist, Mickie has been creating Judaic art since 1980. Judith Citron
Judith Citron is one of the foremost Judaic artists in America today. Her original Ketubot, known for their exquisite detail and vivid colors, hang in homes throughout the United States, Europe and Israel and are in the permanent collections of several major Jewish museums. Judith's use of gold and silver foil, each applied independently, with hand-made dyes, greatly enhances the classical look and appeal of her work. After the piece is lithographed and the foils are applied each Ketubah is individually debossed, stamped with the artist's seal and signed and numbered. Laya Crust
Laya was born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada where she studied drafting and interior design. She continued her studies in drawing, watercolor technique, lithography and calligraphy and later spent time in Israel taking courses and researching Haggadot. Pamela Feldman-Hill
Pamela Feldman-Hill has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and a Master of Arts Degree in Printmaking. Her artwork deals primarily with Jewish themes and she creates original, commissioned ketubot in Hebrew and Aramaic. Designing Ketubot allows Joanne to combine her lifelong interests in lettering and Judaism. Susan Fischer Weis studied graphic design and began her career by specializing in egalitarian ketubot and Judaicgreeting cards. Shoshana Gold
Born in England, Shoshana emigrated to the United States in 1965. She was trained as a calligraphic artist and continued to study Hebrew calligraphy, ketubah making and gold-leaf illumination. In addition to using traditional mediums on paper and parchment, the artist incorporates embossing, pressed flowers and raised gold-leaf illumination into her work. Jay Greenspan
Jay and Tsirl have combined their respective calligraphic and papercutting talents to create these impressive works of Judaic art. Judaic papercuts can be traced to at least the 17th century. Ardyn Halter
Born in London of parents who survived the Holocaust, Ardyn was a scholar at Cambridge University before moving to Israel. His father, Roman Halter, and he designed the original concept and building for Yad LaYeled, the Living Education Memorial to the Children in the Ghetto Fighters' Museum in Israel. Together they made the sixteen stained-glass windows. His style is unmistakable with its strength of design coupled with joyous, life-affirming color. Heather Mendel
Heather was born and educated in South Africa. She is an established calligraphic designer, oriental brush artist and an ongoing student of universal spiritual teachings. Her one-woman show, "The Spirit and the Letter: Calligraphic Interpretations of Spiritual Truths," was exhibited in two cities. Heather has published a feminist Hagaddah for men and women called "Towards Freedom" and she was selected as a Hero of the Central Coast by the local Chapter of National Organization for Women and is featured in their 2002 calendar. Tamar is a well-known and loved Israeli artist. The distinct, vivid, colorful style of her work draws upon a spirit of vitality that at speaks directly to the heart. Daniel Sroka is an award-winning designer and artist who has been creating artwork with the camera and the computer for over twenty years. He has worked professionally as a graphic designer in Japan and the United States, and was most recently the creative director of Yahoo!. Lately, he has been devoting his time to photography and print making. Combining his devotion to craft with a sophisticated understanding of design, Daniel creates artwork that radiates with vibrancy and intimacy.
Daniel's first ketubah was designed for his own wedding when he and his fiance were unable to find one which reflected both their feelings and personal style. They decided to create their own, combining his photography with words they wrote together.
